Wow What A Charity!

I’ve searched and searched the net to find where to purchase the frames that Danny uses. I have come across multiple brands:

The glasses with white sides were Emporio Armani, he’s also worn a Takumi frame, it was the black one with the 2 long openings on each side and then there were the Dolce & Gabana and Versace. Danny actually has a member of his church that offers great discount on these items for the entire congregation.

As for a specific store to get them, we are currently haggling prices with local and national retailers to be able to offer them at the suggested or lower than suggested retail price as the price will more than likely go up with the demand. Check bac tomorrow and we will have ported up to date retailers and what the prices should be.

As for the “our logo” statement here is a comment found on the seattle times website:

“He meant by Our Logo…the logo on his designer eyeglasses. Danny kinda has his own lingo. He called Family Force Five..Family Forest Five. No, FBIM doesn’t make glasses. FBIM has a church member that works in a private practice and the practice has a discount plan for the church members. It’s not our place to judge how much he paid and where he got them from. He has a great sense of style and I’m glad likes eyeglasses and has so many pairs! I think he’s gonna inspire people to get new glasses and bring a lot of business to the Opticial industry as Sarah Palin did. So, I say, go ahead Danny, work those glasses!”

I Found a site offering the glasses!!! And they will make a 10% donation to Sophia’s Heart Foundation for every Sale!

Where Does Danny Gokey Get his Eyewear?

Danny Gokey must have 20 or more pair of glasses. I mean, I’ve seen him wear atleast 4 and according to a recent interview he has many that he wishes to wear on TV but Idol hasn’t approved them due to a logo issue. Danny said,

“Yes, those were a different pair that I wore on the TV show. I’ve taken pictures with them, but I never wore them on TV yet. I have a couple more pairs that I want to wear, but they’ve not been approved because our logo is on them. So, I’m kind of disappointed. I’m hoping that somehow, it can be worked out where I can wear more glasses because I love glasses.”


So the first question that pops in my mind is: “our logo” ??

You have to wonder if he has his own brand or if he is the ginnie pig for his mega church. Churches in the US seem to brand everything these days. I’ve seen everything from coffee cups to music equipment. A valid question and just makes you wonder.

His eyewear is estimated to be at least $300 per pair. So how much does a church music director make these days?

So, how long until we start to see some of these “Gokey Glasses” All over the web for sale? I bet the first person to start selling these will do so out of the back of his truck…
