Danny Gokey Audition

On January 14, 2009 Danny Gokey performed a Marvin Gaye classic “I Heard it Through the Grapevine” for what would be his first audition on American Idol.  I would compare this audition to that of Chris Daughtry. Whether or not this was better, I would say that it is too close to call. This was most certainly my favorite Idol Audition ever.  Immediately following the audition Paula commented, ” Very, Very Soulful”. And you could help but notice the smile on Simon’s face.  So, titled “Danny with the Crazy Vocals” he made it unanimously through to Hollywood Week.
